  • If You Had Six Months to Live

If You Had Six Months to Live

The other night, my friend and I had a deep conversation about life and how we would live it if we only had six months left. If you knew—without a doubt—that you had just six months to live, how would your life change?

I believe most of us don’t truly live to the fullest because we assume we have time. We often hear people talk about making the most of life, but do we actually follow our own advice?

William Shatner has a song called “You’ll Have Time,” which captures this sentiment perfectly. Whether it’s a cover or his original work, the message is clear: famous people, just like everyone else, often think they have time—until they don’t. And one day, you and I will face that same reality.

We don’t know how or when—maybe a sudden accident, an illness, or something entirely unexpected. We go through life believing there’s always tomorrow, but the truth is, we can never be sure.

So, if you had only six months left, what would you do?

    • Would you travel the world?

    • Would you spend more time with loved ones, cherishing every moment?

    • Would you finally finish that book you’ve always meant to write?

    • Would you create something meaningful—music, art, a legacy?

Perhaps you’d continue going to work every day without telling anyone, or maybe you’d quit and chase your passions. Of course, financial constraints play a role in what we can do, but if money weren’t an issue, the only limit would be you.

Some might hide away under the covers, but I’d bet most would embrace life fully, experiencing everything they could in those six months.

And that’s the point—we should be living like that all the time. Not just when we’re given an expiration date. Because, in reality, we all have one. We just don’t know when.

Live like you have six months left. Because one day, you just might.

    runDisney Disneyland 2025 Recap

Last weekend, I participated in the Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare, a two-race challenge consisting of a 10K through California Adventure and Disneyland, followed by a half marathon that extended through the parks and the streets of Anaheim.

I had an amazing time, but it was definitely a challenge, especially since I’m not a fan of cold weather. Some people laugh when I say 44°F is cold, but for a Floridian, it definitely is! I layered up, but the chill still got to me.

In terms of preparation, I had trained well for the weekend, though in hindsight, I probably should have scheduled my longest run one week prior instead of two. I felt ready to perform better, and overall, I was in the same zone as past runs. However, I was aiming for a sub-2:15 half marathon, and a few small factors slowed me down. I usually don’t stop for photos, but I had to take a bathroom break in both races, and I also paused to adjust my shoes during the half. On top of that, Disneyland’s course is more challenging than Disney World’s, with more hills, twists, and turns.

What I Loved About the Race

The corral system was fantastic, there were no staggered heats, so once your corral was up, everyone started together. This made for a smoother, more efficient start.

The course design was well thought out, with plenty of water stations along the way.

The race itself was so well organized that there’s very little to critique!

    Room for Improvement

The pre- and post-race party could have been better, especially with more character interactions like at Disney World. Adding character meet-and-greets would enhance the experience for those who don’t stop during the race but still want that Disney magic moment.

Other than that, it was a fantastic event, and I had a great time!

    Spring Break is happening

It’s starting. Spring break is happening all over the place and Cocoa Beach is no exception. We are experiencing a lot of crowds, but people still don’t wake up early to watch the sunrise. For those of you sleeping in, good morning. Here are a few moments of quiet that you missed.

  • Bioluminescence

(Cocoa Beach-Judd Spitzer) I live on the Banana River in Central Florida. One thing that has become a phenomena in recent years is bioluminescence in the water. At night during the summer months when the water is warmer, certain creatures give off a glow. This was not always the case, and it was once only found in just a few small spots, but it appears to be expanding into other areas of the river.

Hopefully these photos give you an idea what the bioluminescence is all about. in pitch black darkness on the river, it certainly is amazing. The river is about 1-3 feet and you can actually see fish swimming about, and their trails glow. it is amazing.
